My master's study course INSIDE was invited to redesign artists' residence space in Goethe Institut, Rotterdam and propose a set of concepts. While researching the site, I could identify a high chance of getting trapped in order. The surroundings felt extremely organised, and I was curious to research how it shapes human behaviour.
I designed the new artist in residence space where this order reaches an extreme level and questions the relationship between chaos and order. By defining more and more precisely the boundaries between different activities in the space, the apartment got filled with 18 rooms.
